One of the Best

A great strategic overview of the American Civil War. Components are beautiful and the mapboard nicely regulates strategy and transportation options without being too complex. The basic rules are simple and cohesive. Advanced and optional rules can be easily added to as players see fit (and can also adjust play balance as needed).

Classic Game Returns ... Not just for wargamers!

Few games has been able to show the realistic issues facing a historical simulation while making it a good game to play at the same time. This is a game of simple rules and great depth. Used by some educators to explain the ebb and flow of the American Civil War, it is an excellent game even if the subject doesn't interest you.

If you must have great attention to detail or combat with extreme realism then perhaps this is not the game for you. However A House Divided will provide a fast paced extremely entertaining afternoon or evening. The concept touches on every major struggle that both Lincoln and Davis faced in the War Between the States. It is easy to learn and fun to play. It comes with optional and advanced game rules that will add a greater depth to those of us who like the challenge. For those of us who like simplicity and appreciate those games we can just dive into, this is the Civil War game to buy. Whether you are new to war gaming or an experienced player this game will be worth the playing.
